Jesse Meintjes, professionally known as Mars Baby, is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, singer-songwriter, and audio engineer from Cape Town.
Background
Born in Cape Town and raised in the USA, Mientjes was exposed to a range of musical stars during his upbringing. At 16, he moved back to Cape Town, where he made beats while studying film. Eventually, he decided to dedicate himself to the music, releasing his debut EP EROS in 2019 then moving to Johannesburg after signing to STAY LOW. His wide net of influences includes indie rock icons like Bon Iver and experimental, industrial hip-hop artists like JPEGMAFIA.
